Maryland barber shops, beauty salons promote wellness in new initiative

Conversations about health care don’t always start in a doctor’s office. In some communities, they have to happen in a more trusted, informal setting: the barber’s chair. Kaiser Permanente and University of Maryland’s School of Public Health are partnering with Maryland barber shops and beauty salons on initiatives to promote healthier lifestyles in black communities.
