Maryland unemployment rate ticks up as state loses 7,200 jobs in March

Maryland shed 7,200 jobs in March, moving the state’s unemployment rate for the first time in eight months. The private sector lost 7,500 jobs during the month, while government jobs rose by 300, according to preliminary data released Friday by the U.S. Department of Labor.
