Edie Brown said she was “absolutely shocked” when she got the call earlier this year that the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus was shutting down after 146 years. Brown had just traveled a few months prior to Sacramento, Calif. to see what the show had in store for its 2018 iteration.
