Clarke can't muster enough votes to keep $15 minimum wage bill alive

Starting today, the City Council has 20 days to hold a special meeting vote to try and override a mayoral veto on a $15 minimum wage bill. Without that meeting, the bill will die. According to city charter rules, the City Council must wait five days once Mayor Catherine Pugh’s veto is officially recorded — which happened at Monday’s council meeting — before trying to override it with another council vote. The deadline for the vote is April 23, and it would take 12 in-favor votes to complete…
