McCormick and Co. Inc. turned a $93.5 million profit in the first quarter while sales fell short of Wall Street estimates by $20 million. The Sparks-based spice maker reported earnings of 74 cents per share for the quarter ending Feb. 28, a slight increase from $93.4 million, or 73 cents per share, in the year-ago period.
