Year in Review 2017: Maryland's largest layoffs

The largest layoff in Maryland in 2017 was at Good Shepherd Services, a former mental illness treatment facility in Halethorpe. The Catholic nonprofit was closed in February by the state, resulting in more than 200 employees laid off. Among the largest layoffs in Maryland reported this year includes Lord & Taylor, which plans to close its department store at Westfield Mall in Annapolis in April.
