René Jones has been named the successor to Robert Wilmers as chairman and CEO of M&T Bank Corp., the second largest bank in the Baltimore area. Jones, 53, had been serving as M&T’s vice chairman along with Richard Gold and Kevin Pearson. He’d been named vice chairman in 2014.
