Lockheed Martin Corp. said Wednesday it has been tapped by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory to develop a swarm of low-cost, autonomous cruise missiles that use networked coordination to thwart enemy air defense systems. Called Gray Wolf, the low-cost, subsonic cruise missiles will be built with open architectures and modular design to allow for rapid prototyping and so-called spiral-growth capabilities — identifying, researching and delivering technologies to meet cost and mission goals.…
