Suburban House's closure highlights recent struggles of Jewish delis

The Suburban House restaurant — a mainstay in Pikesville — has closed its doors. Suburban House, located at 1700 Reisterstown Road, closed on Friday, according to a report in Jmore. It’s unclear why the delicatessen closed. Owner Mark Horowitz could not be reached for comment by the BBJ. The restaurant was known for its corned beef sandwiches and big bowls of matzoh ball soup.
