Port of Baltimore sets general cargo record in January

The Port of Baltimore set a new a monthly record in January, posting a 14 percent increase in general cargo. During the month, the port handled 923,030 tons of general cargo, which includes cars, containers, farm and construction equipment and forest products. The increase comes after the port set new highs in 2016 after bringing in more than 10 million tons of general cargo for the first time.
