Comptroller Peter Franchot has suspended another 19 private tax preparers after receiving a high volume of questionable income tax returns. The suspensions comes less than a month after the Comptroller’s Office halted processing returns from 20 tax preparers. Combined with last year, the Franchot has suspended 78 tax preparation offices at 98 locations. Of the 19 new tax preparers suspended, six are located in the Greater Baltimore area.
