German grocer Lidl to set up smaller U.S. stores than originally intended

Lidl once had a bold plan to build its U.S. stores from the ground up, with each location spanning about 36,000 square feet. These days, the German grocer is rethinking its strategy. Its plan now calls for moving into existing buildings that are about 15,000 square feet in size.
