Howard County Council to consider repeal of Columbia TIF

Two Howard County Council members plan to introduce legislation Tuesday night that seeks to undo a $90 million tax increment financing plan for Downtown Columbia. County Council members Calvin Ball and Jen Terrasa say they want to put the deal between the county and developer Howard Hughes on hold until the public can weigh in on a recent decision to redirect TIF money away from a major public parking garage project.
