Trial begins in challenge to Baltimore's 300-foot rule for food trucks

A trial started in Baltimore City Circuit Court on Thursday brought by two food truck owners who are suing the city over a law that limits where they can operate. Joey Vanoni, the owner of Pizza di Joey, and Nikki McGowan, who owns the MindGrub CafĂ© truck, argue the law – which bars mobile vendors from operating within 300 feet of any brick-and-mortar business that offers the same food or service – is an unconstitutional impediment to their businesses.
