Maryland approves larger rate increases on some health exchange plans

The Maryland Insurance Administration has approved new rate increases for some health insurance plans sold on the state’s health care exchange, set to go live in only a few days. CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and Kaiser Permanente had asked for larger rate increases on top of what was initially approved this summer due to the Trump administration ending some subsidy payments to insurers.
