United Way of Central Maryland names Greenpeace executive as new CEO

United Way of Central Maryland has named an executive at Greenpeace USA as its next CEO. Franklyn Baker will begin the role as president and CEO on Nov. 28, replacing Mark Furst, who stepped down in October after 12 years in the position. At Greenpeace, a 660-person environmental nonprofit, Baker was principal deputy and chief operating officer. He worked in Washington, D.C.
