Longtime D.C. restaurateur taps Baltimore's Mount Vernon for Mediterranean cafe

Grilled kabobs, hummus and flatbread, Marrakesh panini with marinated chicken and grilled vegetables and Mediterranean lamb salad are some of the offerings on the menu at a new eatery set to open early next year in Mount Vernon. Cafe Fili will open its doors by February in the former space of the Milk & Honey Market at 816 Cathedral St. The market closed its doors this summer and is planning to reopen in the Station North Arts & Entertainment District next year.
