New Purple Line ruling opens door to appeal, but the $5.6B project still threatened

A federal judge has dismissed the remaining counts in a lawsuit filed to stop the Metro Purple Line, though his previous ruling that ordered state and federal transit authorities to launch a new ridership study remains in place. Judge Richard Leon of the U.S. District Court for Washington, D.C., issued his final judgment on Tuesday.
