Maryland gains 3,500 jobs in April, unemployment rate holds steady

Maryland added 3,500 jobs in April with the biggest gains coming from professional services and the government sector. The private sector added 1,900 jobs and government jobs rose by 1,600, according to preliminary data released Friday by the U.S. Department of Labor.
