The attendance at the 2017 NCAA Championship Game was the highest since 2012, and the overall DI attendance held steady, according to the NCAA numbers released Monday. Monday’s championship game between Maryland and Ohio State drew 28,971 fans to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. That’s the highest since the last time the game was at Gillette; in 2012 Maryland vs. Loyola had 30,816 fans. Saturday’s semifinal round saw 30,530, for a combined 59,501, just shy of 2016’s DI total in Philadelphia.…
