Maryland loses 4,300 jobs in April, unemployment holds steady

Maryland lost 4,300 jobs across a wide number of industries in April while the unemployment rate held steady. Government jobs decreased the most of any sector, losing 2,300 jobs. Manufacturing saw the biggest decrease of any private sector industry with a loss of 1,000 jobs, according to data released Friday by the U.S. Department of Labor.
