The speakeasy that tried so hard not to be on the radar when it opened last year is getting some national attention. The Elk Room — the swanky bar in Baltimore’s Harbor East — was named to Esquire’s “21 Best Bars in America 2018” or as the magazine puts it “Twenty-one exemplary places to start a tab.” Esquire sent its “lead barflies” Jeff Gordinier and Kevin Sintumuang and their friends to find bars that fit the bill.
