Visit Baltimore proposes 'tourism improvement district' funded by city hotels

Visit Baltimore is turning to hotels in a new effort to boost its budget for marketing efforts aimed at luring tourists and conventions to the city. Recently introduced state legislation backed by the city’s tourism arm aims to generate new revenue through a new charge collected from visitors staying at Baltimore hotels.
