Baltimore gives grants to spruce up storefronts as way to combat crime

One way the city is trying to combat crime is by literally keeping up appearances. A total of $400,000 in grants were recently given out to large and small businesses in Baltimore as part of a program to help pay for improvements like signs, awnings, window treatments and development costs.
