St. Vincent's Infant Asylum building razed without proper permit, sparking outrage

A former orphanage built before the Civil War in a Baltimore historic district was demolished last week, prompting anger and a stop work order by the city. The 32,400-square-foot former St. Vincent’s Infant Asylum at 1401-1411 Division St. was razed by TCG Development Inc.
