Maryland unemployment rate falls to lowest level since 2008

Maryland gained 14,200 jobs in August and saw its unemployment rate fall below 4 percent for the first time since 2008. The private-sector added 9,700 jobs in August, the fifth month this year to post over-the-month job gains, according to preliminary data released Friday by the U.S. Department of Labor.
