GiftCardRescue.com, a company that sold unwanted gift cards and allowed people to buy gift cards at a discount, has shut down after eight years in business. The Ellicott City company was founded in January 2008 by Johns Hopkins University alumni Kwame Kuadey. The idea for the company came about when Kuadey noticed a trend of friends getting gift cards they didn’t want or wouldn’t use.
