Baltimore City Councilman Brandon Scott will join Democrat Jim Shea’s gubernatorial ticket, Shea’s campaign announced Wednesday night. Shea, the former chairman of Venable law firm, is expected to make the announcement official at an event Thursday. Scott, 33, will be Shea’s running mate, vying for the position of lieutenant governor. Scott chairs the City Council’s public safety committee, and has long been an advocate of social justice issues.
