Rite Aid is selling more than 2,100 stores to Walgreens Boots Alliance for nearly $5.2 billion. The all-cash sale of the 2,186 Rite Aid locations and three distribution centers puts an end to the years-long talks of a merger between the two retail pharmacy giants. First announced in October 2015, the merger did not appear to be nearing approval from the Federal Trade Commission.
