Residents in these counties pay the highest property tax rates in the state

When Nicholas Schiaffino shows prospective homebuyers houses around the Baltimore area, he said they can often be turned off by Baltimore City’s high property taxes. The real property tax rate in the city is the highest of any jurisdiction in Maryland at 2.24 percent. The next highest real property tax rate is in Charles County, where owners pay a rate of 1.25 percent.
