The organization has received contributions from 1,040 donors including the Ravens Foundation, First National Bank, BB&T, the Transamerica Foundation. The fund was started on Aug. 1 and raised $45,000 its first day to assist those affected. The United Way Fund will team Howard County officials to determine how the money will be distributed.
