Maryland eyes building a new bridge to span Chesapeake Bay

Maryland is embarking on a four-year study to examine where to build and how to fund a new bridge spanning the Chesapeake Bay. Gov. Larry Hogan announced the $5 million study Tuesday, calling it a “critical first step” in addressing ongoing traffic congestion on the existing Chesapeake Bay Bridge — currently the lone path across the bay for motorists.
