It's official: Gov. Hogan signs executive for schools to start after Labor Day. Here are the details.

Gov. Larry Hogan on Wednesday signed an executive order requiring Maryland public school systems to begin classes after Labor Day, saying the measure is long overdue and will provide an economic boost to the state. The executive order will take effect beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. Additionally, the order requires Maryland public schools to complete the 180 days required under state law and adjourn by June 15.
