Weis Markets, Inc. has converted and reopened on Thursday five former Mars Super Markets in Baltimore County as new Weis Markets. The Mars grocery store chain announced in May its agreement with Weis to acquire the five locations. Eight other Mars stores in Maryland also closed on July 31. The new Weis stores include two locations in Dundalk and three more in Essex, Arbutus and Carney. Weis said it has hired more than 500 employees who previously worked at Mars.
