Air Force contract for Lockheed-built C-130J transports could be worth up to $10 billion

Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) could see billions come its way in the next five years for its C-130J transport aircraft, securing a contract Friday worth up to $10 billion for about 100 of the planes. The award was an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle. That means the $10 billion isn’t money going to Bethesda-based Lockheed, but rather a ceiling that customers can make purchases against.
