East Baltimore Development Inc. on Wednesday won approval from the city for a $1 million grant for demolition of houses in its 88-acre footprint near Johns Hopkins Hospital. The funds will be used to raze 49 houses vacated by EBDI over the past decade as it worked to move more than 730 families out of the community using eminent domain and relocation packages.
