Howard County seeks $127M TIF for downtown Columbia project

Howard County is seeking $127.6 million in tax-increment financing to help pay for roads and parking garages in downtown Columbia as the Howard Hughes Corp. continues an overhaul of the city’s core. County Executive Allan Kittleman filed legislation to the County Council on Monday that would create a TIF district in Columbia and open up a round of bond sales this year.
