D.C.'s paid museums retool to boost attendance

The government shutdown at the start of the year got private museums in Washington, D.C. off to a hot start. With all the Smithsonian Institution museums closed for more than a month, tourists flocked to the region’s private museums, including the Newseum and the Museum of the Bible. But that trend didn’t continue after the free museums reopened.
