Two-thirds of the building that formerly housed Martick’s Restaurant Francais was approved for demolition Tuesday, as part of a compromise to both save a beloved space and revamp a largely vacant block of downtown’s west side. Baltimore’s Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation (CHAP) voted to allow the owner and developer of the property to demolish the rear portions of the building at 214 W.
