Baltimore has some of the oldest housing stock in America. Here's how we compare to other U.S. cities.

Baltimore has one of the largest shares of old housing stock of any major city in America, according to new statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau. Nearly half of the housing units within the city — 47.2 percent — were built prior to 1940. That puts Baltimore at No. 7 on a list of U.S. cities with a population greater than 250,000 that have the largest shares of housing 80 years or older. The city ranked higher than Chicago, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York and other historic U.S. cities.…
