State Del. Shelly Hettleman wants to shatter the corporate glass ceiling in Maryland by having companies report to the state how many women serve on their boards. Despite making up 49 percent of Maryland’s workforce, women occupy just 16.8 percent of board seats for the state’s locally headquartered public companies as of 2018, according to the Executive Alliance, an Owings Mills nonprofit.
