Former state Sen. Nathaniel T. Oaks of Baltimore was sentenced on Tuesday to 3 ½ years in federal prison after pleading guilty to corruption charges. Oaks, 71, was also ordered by U.S. Judge Richard D. Bennett to pay a $30,000 fine and perform 80 hours of community service. Following prison, he will be under supervised release for three years.
