Hopkins, investment fund launch $65M initiative to support research commercialization

Johns Hopkins University is teaming with a New York investment firm on a $65 million effort aimed at helping to commercialize early-stage therapeutic research. The new initiative, called Bluefield Innovations, was designed in collaboration with health care investment fund Deerfield Management. The goal of Bluefield is to advance medical research coming out of Hopkins that shows strong commercial potential. Deerfield will provide the initial funding over five years.
