The owner of Joe’s Crab Shack and Brick House Tavern + Tap has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and plans to sell the company for at least $50 million to a private equity firm, Reuters reports. According to court documents, Ignite Restaurant Group Inc. (NASDAQ: IRG) has a proposal to sell its assets to Kelly Investment Group and other interested buyers will be able to challenge the bid at a court-supervised auction.
