Greater Baltimore remains without a Fortune 500 company as Under Armour creeps closer

Under Armour Inc. fell just short of making this year’s Fortune 500 list, again leaving the Baltimore area without a company on the prestigious rankings. Overall, four Maryland companies — all headquartered in Montgomery County — rank in the Fortune 500, led by Lockheed Martin Corp. at No. 56. Under Armour came in as the 528th largest public company in the U.S., up 69 spots from No. 597 last year. The sportswear maker revenue posted 2016 revenue of $4.8 billion.
