A former Shoppers in North Baltimore will soon become the metro area’s first store for Compare Foods. The New York-based grocery chain will open a total of five stores in Maryland in former Shoppers locations. The first will be at Alameda Marketplace, a 124,157-square-foot shopping center near Belvedere Square where Compare took over the 24,650-square-foot Shoppers lease, company officials said Monday.
