Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc.’s profit declined 37 percent in the second quarter but beat Wall Street expectations as sales increased as a result of the political primary season. Hunt Valley-based Sinclair reported earnings of $28 million, or 27 cents per share, compared to $44.6 million, 43 cents per share, in the prior-year quarter.
