Former Bay Bank chief Joseph Thomas has been tapped to lead a community bank in Northern Virginia. Freedom Bank of Virginia’s board of directors announced Monday that Joseph Thomas has taken over as its president and CEO. Thomas, whose appointment to lead Fairfax-based Freedom Bank of Virginia, is effective Monday. He previously led Columbia-based Bay Bank for nearly eight years before its $143.1 million sale to Old Line Bancshares in April. Thomas joined Old Line’s board as part of the deal.…
