Wells Fargo is laying off 63 employees in its Frederick office, part of a nationwide trend of job cuts in the mortgage lending industry. The San Francisco-based bank notified the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation on June 22 that it will layoff 61 employees by Aug. 19. A spokeswoman for the bank said the number of people losing their jobs will actually be slightly higher.
