Hogan seeks federal disaster declaration for Maryland's May floods

Gov. Larry Hogan on Monday requested a Presidential Disaster Declaration for the state of Maryland because of the severe storm and flood damage that affected Baltimore City, Howard and Baltimore counties. If the federal government issues a “Major Disaster Declaration,” it will allow for federal assistance to be made available through the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act.
